BIRMINGHAM BLAZE FOOTBALL CLUB was founded in 2005 with the intention to bring together people within the LGBT community in pursuit to play football without prejudice.

Meaning we wanted to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment for people to play football, and to provide peer support. Which is not widely available in mainstream clubs for LGBT players.

Our members simply have a love for the beautiful game of football and a desire to play it.

We pride ourselves on inclusivity and competitiveness.

Blaze consists of members with a range of abilities, ages and backgrounds who come together each week for training, matches or social events.  Some members want to take part in the competitive element of the team and volunteer for selection to play as part of the team. Whilst others simply enjoy the training that takes place each week.

We currently train each Wednesday evening (this can include going through some drills and training matches, and sometimes even just have a few 5-a-side games against each other) and league matches generally take place on a Sunday.

The club have been affiliated with the GFSN League and Cups, the Midlands Unity League, and now are a representing the LGBT community within the FA Festival League

Blaze however does not just compete in the UK, Over recent years the club have taken part in the Gay Games, World Out Games and EuroGames and have competed at:-
Cologne - Rotterdam - Budapest - Antwerp - Stockholm - Helsinki

Next up is Rome 2019.
