BIRMINGHAM BLAZE

FOOTBALL CLUB.

The club was founded in 2005 with an intention  to bring together people of every background and all ages to primarily play football but also to have fun, talk, organise events and to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment where the LGBT community can play football with the peer support that is generally not available in mainstream clubs.

Our members simply have a love for the beautiful game of football and a desire to play it!

Blaze consists of members with a range of abilities, ages and backgrounds who come together each week for training, matches or social events. We pride ourselves on inclusivity and competitiveness.

Some members want to take part in the competitive element of the team and volunteer for selection to play as part of the team. Whilst others simply enjoy the training that takes place each week.

We currently train each Wednesday evening (this can include going through some drills and training matches, and sometimes even just have a few 5-a-side games against each other) and league matches generally take place on a Sunday.

Our sponsor is the Fox Bar within Birmingham city centre. We regularly have social events and after match drinks and food here.
